Our Team

  • Ethel Tolentino - CEO

Ethel Tolentino began her journey with SolSys in 2021 as the Research Manager, successfully completing a pilot project involving lunar hydroponics research. Soon after, she secured SolSys Mining’s first major grant from the ESA and led the project to completion with notable results. Ethel also guided SolSys Mining through the ESRIC Space Resources Innovation Center (SSP) pre-incubation phase in Luxembourg.

Currently, Ethel leads SolSys Mining’s LuNOR project, aiming to develop a novel lunar regolith simulant in Norway, contributing to advancements in lunar resource utilization.

  • Satinder Singh Shergill - CSO

Satinder Singh Shergill is currently a PhD researcher at Cranfield University, focusing on the design of ‘Adaptive ISRU’ systems. The main motivation behind his PhD research is the incorporation of ISRU into long term interplanetary infrastructure, and this has led to considering the need of ISRU systems to be adaptable, and to explore requirements that would allow such an adaptive system to function in a range of different extraction and processing scenarios, suitable for conditions expected on rocky bodies such as the Moon, Mars and Asteroids. This in-turn links to his interest in comminution and beneficiation for ISRU.

Prior to joining SolSys, Satinder has completed an MSc in Astronautics & Space Engineering at Cranfield University, a BEng in Electronics & Satellite Engineering at the University of Surrey and an Undergraduate Diploma in Astronomy at UCL.
